Art War

Art War is a protest being carried out by the Casoria Contemporary Art Museum in Naples, Italy. The protest is the idea of museum director Antonio Manfredi, who is against budget cuts, which he claims have left cultural institutions out of pocket. So far one painting has been burned, with the permission of the artist, but Manfredi plans on burning three a week. There have been sympathy protests across Europe, including Welsh sculptor John Brown, who burned one of his own works.
